Dear All, in the following are some TOIEC-Sample-Questions and I would be very grateful if somebody could help .. I have tried to find the correct answers to some TOIEC-preparation-questions but unfortunately I'm not sure if they are correct. Thank you in advance, Frederic

1) It's my birthday tomorrow. I ____ going to invite all my friends over for a big party.

(answer c?)

2) I ________ like a steak and my son will have a cheeseburger with French Fries.

a) will

(answer d?)

3) Speaker 1: "You should learn how to delegate..."

possible answers:

a) Yes, I promise that I will become a good delegate.
b) I agree, I have a tendency to keep all my books on the table.
c) The problem is that I'm used to work on my own.

(answer b?)

4) We ____ be able to evaluate your insurance claim if you ___ us all the details of the accident.

Choosing option (a) will result in the following grammatically incorrect sentence:
"I going to invite all my friends over for a big party." X
Actually, none of the options will produce a grammatically correct sentence if inserted into the blank because the "going to" part is already in the sentence. The correct version of the sentence should be this:
"I am going to invite all my friends over for a big party."

Actually, option c is not a correctly written sentence. This would be correct:
c) The problem is that I'm used to working on my own.

I agree that there is an apostrophe missing in Frederic's question. Are you satisfied with the punctuation and capitalization in your own sentence, Torsten? ;-)
