What is the difference between the following sentences
"I can't spell check a message before I send it [out?]" and
"I can't spell check a message before sending it [out??]"??

Hi Kevin,

There's really no difference in meaning. You have to be sure that the participle refers to the subject of the main sentence. In your sentence this is true. In other words 'I' is the subject of 'can't spell and also of the participle 'sending'. As I say, the meaning is the same and it's really a difference in style.
