What are some important qualities of a good supervisor or boss? People could come up with lots of different characteristics. When it comes to me, here are some of the qualities I concern most fairness, leadership and consideration.
Firstly, People can accept less but can't tolerant unfair. People are rational animals, but they are not pursue fame,status and money purposely. Most people devoted to their work to full develop their talents and to enjoy their interests. Lots of examples of employees actively offer to reduce their salary when their company was on tough situation.But they can't bear others with low performance but get high rewards.Good supervisor should be fair with everybody.Otherwise,no one will trust him or her.
Another quality for a good supervisor that I appreciated much is leadership. For me, Leadership means setting up the goal and encouraging teammemeber to make effort toward the goal.A good supervisor or boss doesn't necessary to get familiar with every details of the task. But at least he or she definitly has a clear blueprint and confidence to guide the team toward the common goal. As different teammember has his respective task and goal, only the supervisor or boss can compromise different aspects and make sure it go along with the common goal.
Last but not the least, to be a good supervisor, the one should be consideration. People are emotional human.There is no doubt that supervisor and boss should be rigid. Especially for this reason, they should also be consideration sometimes. More asking "what's going wrong with you " instead of direct blaming for the people who does something wrong. It will make that people more commit to the company,to the team.
In conclusion, fairness, leadership, consideration are most imporatant qualities that a good supervisor and boss should possess. |
