Left long ago: Which kind of movie do you prefer, serious or entertaining?

Some people prefer those serious movies that enable them to think about the real lives and existing phenomenons, whilst others would choose those amusing and interesting movies to let them relax. For me, I would definitely choose the latter, because in my point of view the biggest function of movies is entertainment.

Movies provide us with a totally different world of our real lives where we can alleviate the pressure, sadness, anxiety of the reality. It enables us to forget the issues we do not want or think about, just let us feel relax and enjoy. However, it is certain that those movies making us thinking obey the initial function and idea about movies. And we may meditate about those unsatisfied and unacceptable things in the movies and become more depressed and disappointed about our real lives. This is surly not what I seek from movies.

Happiness and laughing can be obtained from those amusing movies. There is a famous Chinese saying that a smile makes a person look ten years younger. According to the recent surveys, laughter has many beneficial side effects such as strengthening the immune system, helping muscle relaxation and can even help to prevent certain respiratory diseases and high blood pressure. How wonderful it would be that just sitting and watching, then living longer! And I have no reason to bother watching those meditation movies, then stuck in crying or complaining, which does not offer any benefit to my physical or mental health.

Amusing and entertaining movies can also keep away my loneliness. When I am alone, I prone to watch those movies that will make me happy because silent and thinking will just let me down and feel more lonely.

From my point of view, the entertaining movie is my first option when I want to watch a movie, for its relaxing story, the following laugher, happiness and longer, healthier life!
