Dear teachers,

please help me with this excercise:find and correct the only mistake in following sentence:

'America's first satellites exploded before it had risen three and a half feet off the ground.'

i think there are 2 mistakes in this sentence:'satellites' and 'before' but my English teacher said that the word 'before' used in this case wasn't incorrect.i really didn't understand why.please give me an explanation.thank you!

The mistake is the word 'satellites' which is plural. The sentence should read as follows:

America's first satellite exploded before it had risen three and a half feet off the ground.

Ginny, please change the title of your forum post: What is a meaningful message title and why is it important?
