Hi, what does shoot the breeze mean? I understand it's an idiom and based on the context I found it in it must mean something like stop by and say hello, is that right? Also, it it American idiom used by young people? Thanks.

.
Shoot the breeze, I think, is little used by young people nowadays. It is a slightly dated idiom meaning engage in trivial conversation; chat.
