Is the following correct?
Have you got a cell phone? Yes, I do.
Do you have got a cell phone? Yes I do.

I thought these are not correct because the answer is "I do". But I am not sure.

First one is correct, and the other one should be "Do you have a cell phone?". Yes, I do.

But shouldn't the answer in the first one be "Yes I have" then?

'Yes, I do' sound much better to me, may be you can wait for some comments from a native speaker.

Maybe that's best. I've always been taught that you have to repeat the auxilary in the short answer. That's why I'm in doubt so much.

Hello Elvis

I guess you could say that your first sentence is prescriptively wrong, but descriptively correct. That is to say, it would not be at all unusual to hear people respond with "Yes, I do" rather than "Yes, I have" (here in the US).

Your second sentence would be OK without the word "got" and with a comma.

And do they say that in Britain too?
Have you got a cell phone? Yes, I do.
