| Hello there Putri! We are actually in the same boat. My TOEFL is also scheduled on the 5th of December. What in the world! I am flipping anxious and worried about what lies ahead! Of course I am not confident about my skills in English and to tell you honestly I have never done any training and review classes as preparation for the exam. I am from the Philippines and I also have this desire tro take up graduate studies in the States. Best of luck to both of us! May God bless us both! cheers! |

Hey Putri! I'm back in the business. I was just trying to retrieve my password in my account and I did find a hard time deciphering it out. Finally, I was able to figure it out again and get my account going. Well, I don't even want to talk about my TOEFL score.Haha! I was really disappointed with my score. I find it too low and totally ridiculous! Argghhh! I was like what the heck happened to me! lol!It went fine though, I was able to reach the cut-off score of my chosen Graduate Institution. They're not requiring that much from international students anyway, maybe I was just setting a high standard and unfortunately I wasn't able to meet those expectations that I had in mind. Good to hear that you did great bro! I want to know more about you! How old are you anyway? And what are you off to take for graduate studies? Hello Samira! How are you? Thanks for joining this thread.. hihi! |

Well hi Josh ! nice to hear from you again It's a sister, josh not a bro hehehe ^__^ I'm a girl, 24 yrs old from Indonesia.
Well, most importantly is that you did reach the standard required rite'? I'm applying for a master in finance in Sweden. the selection results will be announced around May (fingers crossed ^0^) I hope I pass... So, where in the States you will study? and what major? Actually I did have a plan to study in States too but a bit worried about the tuition fee. Maybe you can give an overview of the uni you go?
@Samira: Do you go for any Toefl prep class ? If you need a toefl book, i suggest to use the Barron's. That book helped me a lot ^^ |

Hey Putri! Waahh! my apology for calling you bro! Well, I'm totally clueless regarding Indonesian names. I wasn't even hesitating to call you bro because I really thought you were a boy. lolx! peace! And yeah! I reached the TOEFL requirement of the school but I won't be applying for graduate studies abroad because I find it too hassle already. Yah know, got to comply bunch of things and it will definitely take time to wait for the results. Besides, I was able to receive the notice of admission from the University program here in the Philippines and so I'm gonna grab that opportunity. Actually, my sole purpose for taking up TOEFL exam was merely to develop an overview regarding the type of exam they're giving and with that, I'd be able to gauge my performance the next time I will be taking it up again. My first option was to take up Masters here in the Philippines and so I didn't think twice the moment I received the notice of admission. The idea of taking up MS abroad was just a back-up or should I say a "filller" in case I won't be receiving something from the school. Fortunately, I got it 2 weeks after I wrote the TOEFL exam. hihi! Oh i see! So you're off to take MFinance in Sweden? hmppf! that sounds interesting and really cool! I bet you'll find a hard time adjusting there knowing the fact that their first language is not English. hihi! Good luck SIS! I stand to be corrected! hekhek! One word is enough for a wise man, I guess. By the way, I'm a male from the Philippines - 21 years of age. =) |

Oh sorry I forgot to answer 2 of your questions. Planning to take up Master of Science in Animal Science. The university where I was planning to apply is in New York. In the present, I'm thinking of pursuing my desire to study abroad when I'm off to take up PhD. I'm just too lazy to comply the requirements and I think I'm not ready to leave my motherland. lolx! @Samira, really ? you're married? cool! How old are you? And when did you just get married? |
