Quote:
John offer Kate to teach few magic tricks.

How would you interpret above sentence?
1) Do you interpret it as John asked Kate if she wants to learn how to teach magic tricks?
OR
2) Can it be interpreted as John asked Kate if she wants to learn Magic trick?
I'm more inclined towards first one. Am I correct? If that's the case, how do I modify the sentence so that it has same implication as number 2.

Sentence construction: John offer Kate to teach few magic tricks. #2 (permalink) Sun Nov 22, 2009 0:29 am   Sentence construction: John offer Kate to teach few magic tricks.

The above sentence is incorrect. It should read:

John offered to teach Kate a few magic tricks. (for #2)
John offered to teach Kate how to teach a few magic tricks. (for #1)

I have another question to ask, if you would. I would be appreciated if you can tell me if the following sentence construction is correct.

"It would give me the much needed leverage and skills of ever competitive business environment."

'Leverage' does not really seem to make sense here. I suggest:

It would give me much-needed skills for our very competitive business environment.
