Hi, last Friday I watched the dubbed version of Roland Emmerich's 2012 with my wife and we wonder why the producers of that movie didn't bother to find native speakers of Russian to record the few sentences that were supposed to be said by Russians.

To Russians it's down right funny to hear a German utter a few phrases in Russian when the actor is supposed to act a Russian character.

I suppose, it sounds natural when a person speaks foreign language with a little accent, you shouldn't worry about it, if no special reason to avoid it:)

To Torsten
Is it generally somehow differently when the film is in German and the characters (minor) are of other cultures and languages? In Russia it's all the same. Do you really expect anything special when you go to the film with such pretentious name and highly speculated notion ? It's mass-production. And possibly as a product it's all right, but it's definitelly not a piece of art. The director didn't bother to think of such triffles. The mass consumer "eats" the picture with or without it.
