Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why people visit museum #1 (permalink) Tue Nov 24, 2009 8:17 am   Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why people visit museum

TOPIC : Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why do you think people visit museums? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Different places in the world do have different historical backgrounds. This is perhaps the reason why the elements of culture, language and the lifestyle of the people in particular, vary from one place to another. The culture is one of the main purposes why a lot of people travel from place to place. Some cultures are just so interesting and that a lot of people are attracted to it and willing to know more and have a deeper understanding of the culture in an area.

In line with this, some just go to a place to visit the famous tourist spots over the area wherein they could relax, unwind and free themselves from stress and pressures in life brought about by strenuous responsibilities in their work. Some visit places intentionally to find and look for museums available in the area. This is usually done by students and teachers which they could avail to go through educational and field trips. The reasons why I think a lot of people visit museums are the following:

Museums offer wide variety of information that has something to do with the history of an area. Some places that I went to have museums where they usually put the things that are of historical significance to the place. Some of the archaeological discoveries are being put in the nearest museum to its place of discovery. This is probably the reason why a lot of educational trips, do have museum visitations, one at least.

Apart from the fact that it s educational, museums also display things that students are not able to find and personally see in the institution therefore museums allow them to develop a sense of tangibility about the things they only hear from their teachers. Through museums, students are now able to see it for themselves rather than envisaging from the theories that they are learning from school.

Some people like the tourists in an area, visit museums for they find it fun to be there. There are just persons who feel relieved and have a sense of fulfillment if they are able to visit museums. Some museums, apart from the museums housing the different historical materials in an area and depicting the culture in an area, display things that are enjoyable.

One famous museum is the wax museum in the US. In there you can find the different wax models of popular people – celebrities in the past, famous boxers or people that has created a big name in different fields, be it in the show business, science and technology, education, business world and etc.

To sum it up, people do really have varying reasons why they visit museums. Some visit it for the purpose of learning new things and use it for educational purposes. Some just visit it for recreation and just for mere fun. Well, in my case, I visit it for educational and for recreational purposes.
