Test No. errors/advan-5 "At the Airport", question 6

The service that you receive on this particular airline is ambivalent to that you would receive in a five star hotel.

(a) service
(b) receive
(c) ambivalent
(d) would

Test No. errors/advan-5 "At the Airport", answer 6

The service that you receive on this particular airline is equivalent to that you would receive in a five star hotel.

Correct entry: equivalent
The error was: (c) ambivalent

You have found the error but your entry is incorrect.
The service that you receive on this particular airline is comparable to that you would receive in a five star hotel.

Can comparable also be the correct answer here?

.
Yes, you could. The challenge here is for the student to recognise the two similar words, equivalent and ambivalent.

Equivalent -- a person or thing equal to another in value or measure or force or effect or significance etc.

He asked to send two dollars or the equivalent in stamps.

Ambivalent -- uncertain or unable to decide about what course to follow

She was ambivalent about having children.

'Equivalent' is not equal to 'equal to', this is equivalent to say that 'equal to' is not equal to 'equivalent'
