Hi Teachers

This is what I read from a book:
In most situation, the parties state what they're willing to do to make the deal, then make adjustments, moving closer to the other's position until they match.

My question is why here it use "moving"?
Can we use "move" instead of "moving"?

Thank you
Mark

Hi,

The use of 'moving' here suggests 'they are moving' and this is a process.
