do or write homework? #1 (permalink) Fri Dec 11, 2009 2:53 am   do or write homework?

I read some grammar books the other day, and I saw that--
Due to the different kinds of homework:

For student to write something down, then we can say "to write homework".

On the other hand, to do or make something as an assignment, ex. artwork, then we say "to do homework".

Are they both correct? Thanx for your help!!

'Write' sounds odd to me, but could no doubt be used in a specific instance when the teacher has asked for a written paragraph/essay/etc. It is normally 'do' no matter what kind of homework is involved.

I agree with MC. I write my homework would mean a written task and it does not feel so comfortable ....
