Dear English experts,

Please help on the following question.
I thought "pretty like" was the correct one but the key is "quite like". Would someone explain a little bit?

A: What kind of music do you like.B: Well, I [...] classical music.

* fairly like
* quite like
* pretty like

Hi,

'Pretty' and 'quite' can both mean 'to a limited extent' but are usually used with adjectives in this way: pretty difficult/quite easy/pretty wet/quite hard and so on. 'Pretty' isn't usually used in an adverbial sense on its own with a verb as you have suggested.

Hello, Hieu
I'm not expert. I just share you my opinion. Well, it's not easy to distinguish one from the others. ''Pretty" is more usual in speech than in writing. We usually don't put 'pretty' in front of a verb. In your sentence, 'rather like' is also a good choice.
