Dear Sweety,
I looked through your survey and decided not to take it. I hope you wont mind, because in addition i am sending you my opinion. Learning language is a process. You can not learn just grammar rules or just be in an environment where a foreign language is spoken. My opinion is that the best way to learn a foreign language is to listen first, try to speak it regardless of rules, don't think about how you say something, just express yourself... when your ear become accustomed to the sound of a new language, start learning grammar, but try to focus on exercises and reading comprehensions. Rules are best learned by heart if put in context. When you learn new words connect them with their synonyms, that's how you'll enrich your vocabulary. Also one can not precisely say whether it is easier to learn new language if it is similar to your mother tongue, because even in similar languages the contrasting may occur. Once again I apologize for not taking the survey but I could not bring myself to choose between options none of which I find most appropriate. Nice to meet you and I hope we'll stay in touch. |
