Hi Chhoem,

For the TOEFL, you need to practice listening to authentic English speech. The best way to practice would be to find a tutor, either in-person or online, with whom you could interact. He or she can help you perfect your speaking skills and give you real-time advice on improving your listening strategies. However, this may not be possible for you. If you have limited resources, I would suggest going to YouTube and search for the following types of videos:

1. Simple conversations between two people.
2. Complex conversations between three or four people.
3. An academic lecture or snippet of a television documentary.

Try these exercises: Take notes. Make questions that you might expect an ESL teacher to create, such as "what did the woman imply?" or "How long was the crocodile that was discovered?". Then, answer those same questions. Focus on words and phrases that you didn't understand but are necessary to the main idea or theme of the video. Try to summarize each video in just one or two sentences.

Hope this helps!
