Hello, I´m here again and I would like that you give me a score 0 to 10, thank you.
“OPERATION SUCCESS”, AN EXAMPLE OF THE SUCCESS OF A TV PROGRAM.
A) Give some well-reasoned causes about why this kind of program has caught the audience.
B) In your opinion, what similarities and differences exist between this competition and others, such as “Big Brother”, “Survivors”, “Who wants to be a millionaire?”, etc
C) Give your own reasons about what role quiz shows on TV should represent and how they might help to foster culture, education, etc. Give examples.
Firstly I have to say that I don´t like this kind of programs but I recognize that nowadays these programs are always a success. I think it is because the audience can participate and they choose who will be the winner of the program. A lot of people dream with join in a program like this because if you joined in it you would earn a lot of money and you will be a celebrity person. Not only you will earn money while you are in the program, after you left the program, the TV and magazines will make you a lot of interviews and if you were a good singer you would may to sign a good contract with any studios record and make concerts. The people who participate in Operation Success, normally when the program finish, each one of them record a CD with their own songs and they sell compact discs not only in their country, many of them will success in other countries and not only the winner.
Each program has their own rules and all are different each other, but all of them look for the same target, catch the audience. They have many similarities because the majority of people who join in this kind of program is common people, and we can watch by TV how their behavior are and we like to judge them or after the program to listen the journalists talking about them. The differences between them for me are only the abilities that each program looks for in the participants.
Now, there are a lot of programs like Operation Success and every day at any time when you turn on the TV and you make zapping with your remote control you come across with some program like these. I don´t mind if the channel TV is private but I don´t like anything when the channel is public. The public TV doesn’t have to show us these programs because they don’t teach us anything. I think that the public TV must offer us more programs for children, more documentaries about animals, history of our country and general history, programs of news, good films and avoid the advertisements because we pay the TV and the public TV don’t need other sources of money to be a good TV.
After my composition I think that it is clear my point of view about TV and how would be better.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Firstly I have to say that I DO NOT like thESE kind of programMES but I recognize that nowadays THEY are NEARLY always successFUL. I think it is because the audience can participate and they choose who will be the winner of the programME. A lot of people dream ABOUT TAKING PART in a programME SUCH AS this because if you WERE PART OF it you would earn a lot of money and you WOULD BECOME a celebrity. Not only you will earn money while you are in the SHOW, BUT after you LEAVE, the TV PRODUCERS and magazines will ASK you FOR a lot of interviews . If you were a good singer you may even sign a contract with a RECORDING STUDIO and make RECORDS. When the programME finishES the people who participate in Operation Success normally record a CD with their own songs, and they sell compact discs, not only in their country, BUT ALL OVER THE WORLD. Many of them will BECOME successFUL in other countries.
Each FORMAT has ITS own rules, and all are different, but all of them look for the same target; TO CAPTURE AN audience.
They have many similarities because the majority of people who join in this kind of programME ARE common people, and we can SEE THEIR REACTIONS, and we like to judge them, or after the SCREENING, to listen TO the journalists talking about them. For me the differences between THE CONTESTANTS are only the abilities that each programME looks for in theM.
Now, there are a lot of SHOWS like Operation Success, and every day, at any time, you CAN turn on the TV and SIMPLY BY zapping with your remote control you come across MANY programMES like these. I DO NOT mind if the TV channel is private, but I DO NOT like anything LIKE THIS when the channel is public.
The public TV STATIONS do NOT have to show us these programMEs because they DO NOT teach us anything. I think that public TV must offer us more ALTERNATIVES for children, more documentaries about animals, THE history of our country and general history, NEWS ITEMS, good films and THEY SHOULD REMOVE the advertisements because we pay FOR the TV and the public TV DOES NOT need other sources of money to be a good TV.
After my composition I think that my point of view about TV is clear, and how IT COULD BE EVEN BETTER.

A lot of correction, but still, a good essay. Do more reading. 7/10
Avoid using contractions, can't, won't, don't, etc,. Similarly type numbers in text.

Hi kitosdad, I have two questions about this essay; First of all I want to know why should we avoid using contractions? And secondly, do you think is it possible for us to have such questions in the real exam? I mean, you know, It seems a little specific to me! In the beginning I couldn't understand the meaning of the subject, because I've never watched TV programs such as "big brother" or "survivors" etc. So it was hard for me to know the true meaning of this question: "In your opinion, what similarities and differences exist between this competition and others, such as “Big Brother”, “Survivors”, “Who wants to be a millionaire?”, etc"

As I have been given to understand, contractions are not encouraged when writing exam papers. I may well be wrong about this, and perhaps someone could enlighten us further.
I watch very little TV as I think it is a futile exercise!
"Big Brother" and "I'm a Celebrity" are little better than "mind numbing" for the masses. "Millionaire" at least calls for a degree of general knowledge from the participants.
