One SMS contains 160 characters. If this number is not sufficient, you can send a concatenated SMS of up to 1530. A concatenated SMS is displayed as one text on the recipient's cell phone.

Standard SMS length is limited to 160 characters. Longer messages of up to 1530 characters may be sent via concatenated SMS. Concatenated SMS messages display as a single message to the recipient, but may be billed as multiple messages by your wireless provider.

Hi Drew,

Thanks a lot for this. I'll use all of your text except for the billing part since it doesn't apply to this situation.
