Can I say, "He lost the ability to speak because something has happened to his vocal chords?" ... Yes. _________________ Keep it simple ... Keep it interesting. |

If someone has lost his ability to "Talk" you could say "He has lost his speech"
But Sandy had written Speach - could he not also have meant "Speak" as - "Lost his ability to "Speak" seems more logical??? - IYDMMSS!!
Again just the opinion of an aging overweight buffoon. _________________ Any day you wake up on "the right side of the dirt" is a good day. |

Hi Sandy,
I know what you mean. There is a German term for it -- Sprechapparat. It describes the system you use to produce sounds. I don't know if there is an equivalent in English but I'm sure Alan, Jamie or Bill will tell us.
Many thanks for brining it up. Torsten
