A clearcut difference between conditionals and conditional mood? #2 (permalink) Sun Jan 24, 2010 9:13 am   A clearcut difference between conditionals and conditional mood?

Hi,

'Conditionals' refers to the forms of the verb used in conditional sentences often associated with 'if' sentences as in: If I wanted to come to the party, I would let you know. 'Mood' was used originally in Latin and Greek to show verbs when they are used. either to express fact or hypothesis. Today it is used to distinguish the following: indicative (stating something as it really is) subjunctive (stating something unreal) imperative (giving an order as in: Stand up!). 'Conditional mood' is not used but it suggests the form showing a conditional sentence.
