conditional type 1 and 2 #2 (permalink) Mon Jan 25, 2010 22:39 pm   conditional type 1 and 2

Hello Naz,
The first conditional tallks about the probability for the future which means that an action may happen in the future based on another action that may happen in the present.
e.g. If he studies hard, he will achieve success.
This means that perhaps he studies hard so that he may achieve success in the future but the second action is based on the first action. Also, I am not sure of both actions because it's just a probability and they are not facts.

The second conditional talks about improbability.
e.g. If he studied hard, he would achieve success.
This means that he doesn't study and he doesn't achieve any success.

The third conditional talks about impossible actions.
e.g. If he had studied hard, he would have achieved success.
Which means that he didn't study and he didn't achieve any success.
Hope that will help.

Regards,
Nola
