Hello Moderators,

I am confused how to write indirect interrogative sentence. Please tell me which sentence below is correctly written.

1. I wonder if she were able to write poems.
2. I wonder were she able to write poems.

Further to above, I want to learn how to transform a "direct question" into "indirect question". I really need it in my writing lesson.
