Hi Lilish, I am Iranian too, and for sure one of those who has not finished his military service! To be honest, I hate this thing, LOL. Anyway, I think your sentence is correct. Let's wait for the rest.

Hello Lilish, I think your sentence, is correct grammeticaly. And as you know this is the structure that we use in our languge (Farsi, Persian), but i'm not sure that if it is being used in English or not? So, do you got it your answer?! Sorry for this complex answer. I want just to be in this challeng with you.

Good morning Lilish. Your sentence is acceptable, and was often used in the past.
You could also say, " He is serving in the military."or, "He is in the Forces." _________________ Keep it simple ... Keep it interesting. |

| Yes, "doing his military service" is still used in countries where military service is compulsory. But as Kitosdad mentioned above, "serving in the military/armed forces" or being "in the Forces/service" are both commonly used, especially where joining the military is optional. |
