Can you tell me how to used the verb "alter" ?
Is it similar to the verb "modify" as below ?

Thanks

Far better to have used "changed" Mark.

LOL, I was referring to your use of "modified" Mark.

To alter/change, have almost the same meaning. You would choose which to use depending on the text.
