Hi all! :) I'm Danny from Bulgaria. I'm studying for the state English exam and a part of it is writing composition of about 150-200 words. Since I study English only by myself without a teacher, there's nobody to check my compositions for errors.Though I try to edit them by myself, still, it's better to ask someone else for opinion, too. So I will be glad to read your comments. Thanks in advance! Here is one of my compositions:
The Advantages and Disadvantages of Living on the Top Floor
One of the essential advantages of living on the top floor is calmness. You are high above the traffic noises from the street. You don’t have to listen your neighbors dropping things really loudly all the time on their floor and accordingly on your ceiling. Therefore you don’t feel like someone’s walking on your head. The outlook is another privilege. You can enjoy the beautiful panoramic view from your windows and balcony and bright sunshine as opposed to live on the first floor where nothing can be seen. You have more fresh air entering your rooms through the open windows since the air in the heights is less polluted. Besides you don’t have to use a lot of electricity in winter for you get the heat from the apartments below yours. But here come the disadvantages, too. In summertime the sun heats the roof so much that it’s impossible for you to undergo it without using AC. Another blemish is the stairway. Providing the elevator breaks down, climbing stairs is tedious especially when you have heavy loads to bring up. The absolute disadvantage is if there’s no elevator in the building. Still hauling groceries, purchases, heavy items, etc. up three floors of stairs is a tiring, annoying drawback. In this case you should look at the situation from the positive side. Climbing stairs is also a good physical exercise and doing regular physical activities keeps you healthy!
