Hello,

I have a vocabulary question for native speakers: how often is the collocation "stag party" used in the broader sense of a "men-only party or outing", NOT just a pre-wedding bachelor party? I.e. can fathers of families have a "stag party" over the weekend (involving probably a lot of drinking, but not necessarily watching porn movies or going to a strip club) or does that sound weird? I have found the broader meaning in some dictionaries, but not all and the narrower seems to be vastly predominant. And if "stag party" is not safe for the case above, how to call such an (unobjectionable :-) men-only outing colloquially? Thank you very much. S.

I'm not certain as I've never used "stag party," but have seen it used many times.

In regards to your question about naming it in the broader sense, "men's night" and "guys' night out" are both common.
