under no circumstances should you call the police. Help me rewrite this sentence using LAST please. Thanks a lot.

Calling Police is the last thing you could do or
The last thing you could do is to call the police.
I wonder why have you titled the post as 'investigating', was that because it concerns Police?[/i]

I think your answer isn't correct. The sentence means you shouldn't call the police under any circumstances but after you rewrite it, it became you still could call the police. I wrote investigating as i've received many answers the same and different from yours.

But it means more or less the same.
It simply means, calling police is your last resort, something which should be done after considering all other options.

if it didn't include the phrase under no circumstances i'd be much easier. But is the sentence you should call the police as the last resort correct?

You should not resort to calling police, unless all other options are found to fail.
