If a man speaks and no woman hears him - Is he still Wrong? #1 (permalink) Thu Feb 25, 2010 12:05 pm   If a man speaks and no woman hears him - Is he still Wrong?

What's the deal here?

If a man speaks and a woman doesn't hear - Is he still Wrong?

Best answer so far ......... he is not only still wrong, he may also be seriously deranged. Men don't talk to each other, so if a man is talking and no woman is present to hear him, then he is talking to himself, and that is just crazy. And that also means he has bad genes and so is automatically a loser in the survival of the fittest. And THAT means no sex!

Actually, in most cases, men are better off never talking at all. It just bothers the other guys because it interferes with hearing the score of the big game, and, as George Carlin so wisely points out, "Women like silent men, they think they're listening." And if we think you are listening to us we think you are wonderful. That makes us all misty-eyed and soft and so men get lucky when they are quiet.

There is an old saying (well, maybe not so old, but funny just the same): Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day. This can be put another way: Give a man some words and he will order pizza. Teach him to speak and he will discover that, while "I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language, "I do" is the longest sentence, and certainly has the potential to be the most expensive. But he probably won't learn this until after he has already said it.

I rather like Garrison Keillor's take on a similar phrase: If a man is alone in a forest and no woman can hear him, is he still wrong?
This is what GK says: "He is wrong, and without her there, he doesn't know why. This didn't hold Thoreau back, but it is daunting to me and I never go in the woods alone anymore."

That means he realizes man does not live by bread alone; companionship is essential. But unless you want people to talk, you had better make that companion a female. And then you had better keep quiet.

So the answer to your question is, chauvinistically, absolutely! He is either rude or crazy or both, any of which makes him wrong, wrong, wrong! Every comedian who has ever set foot on a stage has confirmed it time and time again. Men need to stay quiet. They will be damned if they do speak, and damned if they don't, but if they want sex tonight, silence is golden!

He is never wrong, Jamie,

I would say. A man is what he is, no matter what he ever said or wants to say. Means: He should love himself just like he is. If he does, he always might find a nice female companion for sex. I am also still learning in these matters, but I have more and more success after having quitted my old marriage.
You cannot do it by talking, you are very right. You only can do it by your eyes! Women are looking into the eyes. If they like what they see you have won. Sometimes even, if they hate what they see, believe me or not. It is mysterious, can't help it.
In a forum like this you may have better chances if you can put a better photo of yours on the screen.
If you want sex, play with your eyes and your whole body; if you want to talk look for men or for wise women (this kind is really existing, believe me or not). The old Greek had three wives as soon as they were rich: one to have children with and for raising them, one for good sex and one for philosophy.
Wishing you a nice afternoon,
Andreas
