Is learning of the foreign language very important? #1 (permalink) Mon Mar 01, 2010 3:06 am   Is learning of the foreign language very important?

Obviously the learning of the foreign language is very important and plays the vital role in this competitive world. Because of the globalization the world becomes smaller and smaller each day, in each time for lively living we need to command in foreign language for all daily work. The venue of the study either own country or in the foreign country where the language is consider as the primary language have some advantages and disadvantages. But I prefer to learn the language where it is spoken is most beneficial for the language learner despite the fact of some economic burden. The basis of my preference is technical, personal and social.

In my technical view, learning a foreign language in one's own country has the advantage in finance matter. We don't have to spend time and money on traveling and staying at a foreign country. In addition, the most important thing is that you can have your teachers explain unknown words or phrases in your mother tongue, which is especially important at the early stage of learning a foreign language. However, learning a foreign language in the country where it is spoken has incomparable advantages over these. First of all, we will have access to exact pronunciation and proper tone. Listening to exact pronunciation will help us correct our self and will improve our listening and speaking ability. I know this well from my own experience, when I first learned English, I didn't pay much attention to pronunciation and I had had very difficulty in all aspect of English language Reading Listening and Speaking.

Personally, I think practicing continuously is the most important factor and only staying in the native country can give this chance of constant practice. When living in the native country, or in a country which the language is used as first language, one has no choice but using this language. He has also to listen to news, advertisements on TV in foreign language because he has not more alternative in that area. When I study in my own country, naturally these all activities go to the domain in my own language which ultimately slows my foreign language learning ability.
Socially, it will also helps to introduce our self with other people, who have different nature values. It will be the good experienced in the life. I am so excited this type of learning in the life. Even when I was in own my country I went to look study and observed to different part of my country. I am sure this will be given in the foreign country.

To sum up, I prefer to learn a foreign language in the native country where it has been spoken as the primary one because it will give me opportunities to practice a lot, to correct my fault easily and naturally. So I think this is the better way of learning a foreign language.

The passage and lecture both argued the relationship between the rewards and production. Where the lecture cited with some conclusion from research that the production in terms of quantity and quality was going worst due to reward system, but in other hand the reading passage has just opposite in that view. The overall the production quality and other factors are also making good If someone implement the reward system in their management.

According to lecture, everyone wants to be a good paid instead of the incentives. People think that incentive is not their own money which they earn, they think only the good paid which they got is the actual things of their contribution. She also said that the incentive and other rewards are not any meaning for people, only they want the respect from the management. As a result, the incentive and other rewards in the monitory values are the counterproductive for the organization. But from the reading passage all rewards to the employee is the part of the motivation which ultimately leads the high production in all aspects.
According the lecture, further quoted that the reward system in the managmenet is the control system. They think are controlled with in the certain part which seems to be punishment for them. Because they think have been manipulated or in otherwords they have been blackmailed in their efforts and contribution by the management, which ultimately reduce the quality and quantity of the product. Not only that because of the rewards system, If someone did the mistakes in their work, it will be tendency to hide this false because of the rewards system. Which could be very costly for the management. But in the otherside in the reading passage, all these things shold be consider as the positive thigs and makes the better production from the rewards policy.
