Dear Folks,
I had a problem with provided in ,which I couldn't look it up in DICTIONARY in following sentence. Then is "was get" make sense or" was to get"?

My parents provided in my day-today needs, and all I had to do was get good grades.

Thanks in advances,
Mohammad,
Mzahed

'Provided in' is not an English collocation. It should read 'My parents provided for my day-to-day needs...'.

Hi VW, you are someone who definitely qualifies as 'notorious'. You simply keep ignoring basic rules and don't pay attention to any of our requests. Can you please tell me the reason for this? What do you want us to do?

What did you mean by saying THE BASIC RULES? I just wanna post, show up my opinions and then, if they're correct you'll say nothing but if they're not correct you'll help me to correct them. That's my purpose when I attended the forum.

Thanks all of you,
What about the second question: which forms of "was get" or" was to get" is correct?

'Was get' is impossible. 'Was to get' is possible in some sentences, but I will have to see the complete sentence in order to judge the use that you make of it.

Thanks a lot Mister.
the sentence is as follow:
My parents provided in my day-today needs, and all I had to do ,was get good grades.

So, which of them is more appropriate?

Oops. I see that we have both forgotten the thread beginning. 'Was get' in this structure is of course just as possible as 'was to get', and you have made none of the corrections already given to you. It should read 'provided (for)', not 'in' and 'day-to-day'.
