Hi Forum,

I like to keep people updated on OnlineEnglish and I have just completed our 2009 student analysis.

An amazing 99% of students doing our course achieved the TOEIC score they were aiming at. The overall TOEIC score level increase of those students that had previously sat the test was over 80% (actually 89%). The overall average improvement on a running basis of all students during 2009 has remained above 150%

The students training with OnlineEnglish during 2009 achieved test results as follows:

400 - 600 points - 1%
600 - 700 points - 21%
700 - 800 points - 58%
900 - 990 points - 20%

Approximately 20% of the total students doing the OnlineEnglish course for 2009 have not been included in the analysis because they did not report the score they achieved in the test.

Hi Rob, thanks a lot for your update. Do you have any information as to how your students were able to improve their actual speaking skills? I mean a test score is one thing, being able to really use English in the workplace is often another.

Hi Torsten,

Yes of course.

Out of our 2009 students, approximately 30% wanted to improve their Speaking and Writing Skills. The other students were only interested in Listening and Reading.

OnlineEnglish ALSO INCLUDES comprehensive speaking exercises covering ...

    Description.
    Answering questions.´
    Formatting information based upon a situation and then delivering that information in the spoken word.
    Explanation and summarizing.
    Pronunciation.

The speaking exercises were introduced when ETS released the Speaking and Writing Test and work together with our service for improvement in Writing Skills.

Soon the exercises for Speaking and Writing will be separated and become an additional option, that students can choose when registering. At the moment there is no additional charge if students wish to practice and improve their Speaking and Writing.

The separation will enhance the service to students and make it a stand-alone option that may be used separately or in addition to preparation for the Listening and Reading Test.

Naturally we often get students that wish to prepare for the Listening and Reading Test, and are also very interested in improving their speaking skills although they have no intention of doing the Speaking and Writing Test. Approximately 40% of students participate in the speaking exercises alone.

As with English-Test, no special software is required, only a microphone.

The OnlineEnglish training coach now has a Japanese user interface!

What is the training coach? It is a training-program that sets an efficient and individual training plan for each and every student for fun, easy and motivated learning based upon an estimate of the student's score level, strengths and weaknesses.

The training coach places in the training plan;

    practice exercises in true TOEIC question format for every part of the TOEIC L&R test;
    specific tips and advice about answering the TOEIC question types and planning a test strategy;
    advice about the student's speed in answering the questions and chances of completing the TOEIC test in time;
    special exercisers for improvement in core skills such as listening, reading, implication and locating information;
    additional exercises for English language grammar and vocabulary to support the student's training and ensure solid development.
As the student learns and improves, the exercises and advice of the training coach change to ensure the student is always improving and learning more and more.

The training coach offers students the chance to focus their learning for super fast improvement just before sitting the TOEIC test; including a test simulator that offers over 1000 different test simulations to really learn and get accustomed to the TOEIC test, or students can learn longer; all the way to the maximum 990 points and beyond!

Naturally full access to all training areas, practice tests, test simulations, tips and advice ... etc is also available to students that wish to set their own training plan.

OnlineEnglish reaches 1000 Students!

Proof of the success of OnlineEnglish lay in its growing student base.

Over 80% of students got the TOEIC score they required in 2009, and this has now increased with figures closer to 92% as we approach June 2010.
