Hi,

I heard that sentence says : to ape someone.

What I know that 'ape' as a noun is like 'a monkey'. So, .... I want to know if it's ok to use the phrase just like when i say 'being a copy' or maybe ape is impolite?

Thank you.

Hi,
[transitive]
1 to copy the way someone speaks or behaves in order to make fun of them [= mimic]:
He could ape his teachers perfectly.
2 to copy someone's way of doing something, so that what you do or produce is not good or original [= mimic]:
cheap clothes which ape the high fashions of the day.
Therefore, you'd better draw the line at using IT while talking politely.
Regards,
Morteza
