Another beautiful Spring morning today, but in the first moments of opening my eyes I was at a loss to understand why it was still so dark outside. Normally 5 a.m. brings the breaking dawn nowadays. I had completely forgotten that the clocks were to have been put forward an hour last night to greet the official Summertime. Nevertheless, my "internal clock" roused me from my slumbers and I tumbled out of bed to be greeted by a trio of wagging tails in the kitchen. Yep, the "Three Stooges" were already wide awake and raring to go, but NOT before I had my cuppa' and a ciggie!
My "vital necessities" satisfied, Violetta, Rusty and I were ready to go. We left a soulful-eyed Becky in the kitchen on her little bed. She is too old and frail to face such a long walk in the morning. On our return I will take her alone for a much shorter walk.
On the trail there was lots of activity, although we three were the first to greet the new day. Magpies were busy refurbishing last years nests, with much to-ing and fro-ing with new materials to renew the roofs of their homes.
The Blackbirds and Song-thrushes were busy hunting their breakfasts, and they too will soon be building new nests for their tiny offspring, but not just yet, another month or so.
As we reached our point of return the sun burst through the clouds, and the birds all broke into song, presumably to attract potential mates. Halting for a cigarette( I know they are not good for you...thanks) I noted that most of the saplings on the nearby trees, recently bereft of all decoration, were beginning to swell their buds, and some were sprouting the first of their green leaves.
Continuing on our way, we greeted the later risers and exchanged greetings with them. Everyone is in a far happier mood when the sun is shining.
Finally we arrived back home to be greeted by an ecstatic Becky. Slipping off the leads of Violetta and Rusty I prepared their breakfasts and left them quietly enjoying their repasts. Becky and I set off for another shorter walk. She really enjoys her walk, her little legs going twenty to the dozen, but she quickly tires, and I sometimes have to carry her part of the way back on the return journey.
Back home I am finally able to sit down and have another cuppa' and something to eat, followed by the inevitable cigarette.
On goes the laptop, and here I am at your service.
Welcome ... it's officially Spring.

Hi Kitos, Yes, today the clocks were to be put forward 1 hour but if you knew how I forgot.. I thank to my friends who've phoned me otherwise I myself won't remember. However, today presumably have to be sunny spring but here is cold and around 10C.Even though I turn on the heating. It's likely you don't mean today is the first day of the spring, do you? I thought the first day of the spring is 22nd of March.Practically the spring in Europe takes place in common date. |

If I am not wrong; Beck, Violetta, and Rusty are your dogs, aren't they? Yes they are: Violetta is 6/7 years old and she is a friend to everyone. Too friendly and attractive. I am always afraid someone will fancy her and take her away. Luckily she has a chip in her throat, so we can easily track her through the satellite.
Rusty is about five years old and a little swine. He is a Yorkshire terrier mix and will fight anything and anyone. He is ALWAYS kept on the line for all of our safeties when on his walk. It took me a long time to win his trust, but now he never leaves my side.
You can see these two on my Profile gallery.
Becky is our recent "lodger", but I think we will end up keeping her. She is not an attractive dog like the other two, but she is so sweet. She is about 11/12 years old. Completely deaf, and almost blind. Also she is incontinent, (as I will be soon) and needs frequent visits to the garden, but I love her.
All three are from Spain. Violetta we have had for nearly three years, Rusty nearly two years, and Becky only a few months. Becky was sent to us badly injured. She had been attacked by two larger dogs and her back was ripped open She had to have the wound metal clamped around half the circumference of her body. I sat with her for the first three night of her arrival with us.
When the time came to have the staples removed the vet said she also had four teeth that needed to be removed. She was in a real state when we got her back, and it meant another four nights of my dog-sitting her. Luckily she has made a marvellous recovery and the owners say she is not worth their selling, so perhaps we would like to keep her.
So, that's it! We have three dogs, all with different natures, but a very close knit gang. I love them all.

Hello, Bill
As we reached our point of return the sun burst through the clouds, and the birds all broke into song, presumably to attract potential mates. ( I like this line a lot )
Here is summer and its really hot in Pakistan.... It must be tough to share your love with each of your dogs. Do you find it hard sometimes to love each of them equally? _________________ No pain No gain ! |

Good evening CG. Not really for they all have their own characteristics. Violetta is loyal and filled with boundless energy, whilst Rusty is very protective of me, and so very funny in regard to the things he does. Becky is dependant on me entirely, and I feel her love being returned as she sits on my feet while I am using my laptop.
I would hate to have to choose between them.
How is your little baby? Very well I hope.

They are so cute. May I pet them? LOL! You know, once I had a lovely white cat. But somehow he neglected me! Thank you Kitos. It is really exiting to read your notes.
