Why is this right? Flowers smell good. I think it should be `well` instead of good. I think we need an adverb here. Thanks, Natig

Hi,

Remember that 'smell good' here means create a pleasant perfume where 'good' describes the state. The adverb 'well' in that sentence would mean that the flowers did the smelling.
