Hi everyone, I would like to check my essay. Thanks Silvia
Universities and colleges are places where people go to learn about careers or occupations. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people attend them by different reasons or motivations. In fact, there are many reasons whereby people attend university or college such as to prepare the career, make new friends or live a new experience. In my opinion, the most people who study at university and college want to enhance their knowledge and improve their skills to get a great job, obtain a high income and have a good quality of life.
Currently, doctors, engineers, and lawyers have excellent jobs where earn much money. They do not have troubles finding work when they finish their training at schools; in addition, these professions are very well paid. For this reason, medicine, engineering and law are the most popular careers between students. For instance, individuals choose to study medicine instead of biology because this last one has less demand of employment than medicine. In this case, a doctor can work in hospitals, insurance companies, research institutes, universities or at her/his own medical clinic, while the field of action of a biologist is more close. In short, more and more universities and colleges offer attractive programs to society that allow to students find quickly jobs.
On the other hand, professions such as crafters, farmers and in general, all of those which do not need studies are disappearing because people who work in this field have to spend a lot of hours of their time in order to get a decent salary. A clear example, cities are crowded because no one wants to work in the farm, as a result, farms are become empty. Individuals prefer to move to the huge metropolis in order to study before work so have a better quality of life. All in all, occupations that require much effort, dedication and are bad paid are less demanded by people than those are not.
Finally, employers prefer qualified staff with an extensive background in order to work within their companies. Individuals who have a bachelor or technical degree are more likely to get executive positions in organizations than those who have not upgraded their skills. For example, if two teachers apply for the same employment in a high school and one of them speaks English and French, and another one just speaks English, probably, the teacher who speaks two languages get a job. In summary, having a career is an essential requirement if you want to have opportunities to get a great job in any enterprise.
