Here is the sentence and I think there is something wrong with it.

I do not very always talk to my father.

my question is, can we put "very" and "always" together?

Yeah. It seems that this guy is getting very bored with his father. Do not always means never and always doesn't need very except for he hates his father very very much that it can never be described satisfactorily.

No. The sentence is incorrect.

The sentence, "I do not always talk to my father" would suggest that the speaker only talks to his father sometimes.

Hello Wingche,

I agree with Expatcat completely. Your sentence is incorrect with the word 'very' in it. If you remove the word 'very', then the sentence is OK and basically means that the speaker talks to his father sometimes. A context for 'not always' might be something like this:

When Joe has a problem, he sometimes talks to his father about it. However, he doesn't always do this. Sometimes he talks about his problems with other people instead -- people such as his brother and his girlfriend.
