increase - to become bigger or greater in amount. "We saw an increase in the amount of stock we sold last month compared to previous months."
progresses - advances, moves forward in a positive way. "If he progresses as quickly in future as he has in the past, he will soon be on the next level."
accelerates - causes to move faster or moves faster; increases velocity. "The car accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour really quickly."
gains - increases by a specific amount. "The girl gains an inch on her waist for every bar of chocolate she eats!!!"

Can you choose the correct one now?

Indeed! At this rate she will be the size of a small house in no time, because she does enjoy chocolate! ;)
(I found it really hard to think of an example which would not give anything away.)
