I found the following sentence, and I am not sure of the meaning of BY-AND-BY. I thik it could be eventualy or finaly, but I would like to be sure. I also would like knowing if this expression is commonly used.

"You will se, however, by-and-by, why I mention it".

Regards.

Thank you for the reply.

Is this expression commonly used? I have never heard it. Does every native english speaker know it?

Regards.

I think so, Lobo. I would guess at least the native speakers after a certain period of education may all know about it.

I would second the opinion that it is a common expression.
