hi everybody.

I am having problem with understanding will/would.

I will/would put my question in the following way. Please explain your answer as that would/will be very helpful.
Suppose I and my friend are working on the internet and the internet connection is not working ok and we are having problems. What is right for me to say.

1. we will be lucky if we complete the task.
2 we would be lucky if we completed the task.

"We will be lucky if we complete the task." is the correct phrase.

'will' is a positive phrase, whilst 'would' is conditional.

You can find a further explanation in this thread and the links contained within it:

Thank you very much for the answer Beesneees.
Suppose instead of saying "We would be lucky if we completed the task" in number 2, I say " We would be lucky if we complete the task".
Does it sound correct this time ? I think yes ? What do you say ?

No. 'would be' and 'complete' don't match. It has to be 'completed' unless you change 'would be' to 'will'

"We will be lucky if we complete the task."
"We would be lucky if we completed the task."
"We were lucky to complete the task."
"We were lucky to have completed the task."
