Some people believe that students should be given one long vacation each year. Others believe that students should have several short vacations throughout the year. Which viewpoint do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.
There are some people that fall in line with the proposal of having varied short holidays throughout the year. Whereas, other people are in favor of TAKING one long vacation each year. As for me, I would prefer to have many short breaks, due to the following reasons.
By having several short school terms, learners have less mental pressure, because they cannot cope with ongoing exams and assignments without a proper rest. Short vacations will keep their interest in studying. They will retain more knowledge this way, since it is widely known that after a longer holiday learners are more likely to forget most of their lessons. This is because they spend most of their time entertaining themselves, rather than REVIWING their studies. Additionally, they seem to be more exhausted when starting classes after a long period of laziness.
As far as short vacations are concerned, they can provide students with the chance to appreciate the beauty of every season. It is noticeably desirable to make the most of the advantages of each season: you can take pictures of colourful fallen leaves while camping in the forest; you can skI or ice-skate in Winter; you can have a picnic with your peers in spring; and, you can swim and sunbathe in summer.
When it comes to arranging shorter vacations, students can attain more discounts in travel fares. To travel in Autumn or Spring is further cheaper than in Winter or Summer. Certainly, they will find it less complicateD to find accommodation during the common low seasons. Admittedly, they will enjoy eating seasonal food and participating in other festivals. They can visit more tourist places nearby, so as to boost the economy of neighboring communities.
In conclusion, it is highly preferable to have various short vacations instead of a few long holidays. Learners can benefit more from spacing their studies, with the intention of reducing the burn-out syndrome. They can also have more fun throughout the entire year. Moreover, they can AVAIL THEMSELVES OF less expensive travel fares. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Good morning Mil. Bad night?
