Although the water may look still and calm, on the surface, it could be very deep with a strong undercurrent.
Basically, the saying is advising that someone with a calm, unflustered demeanor may have hidden depths and feelings, often very powerful, intense ones. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

| Sorry torsten my dictionary doesn't have it. I'm not a teacher so I can't buy for me a good dictionary(about 2k pages). Such dictionaries aren't sold in the book stores or even supermarkets. They're just sold in the language institute. |

A dictionary which doesn't contain phrases or idioms wouldn't have this phrase, of course (which is why I decided to be kind and provide it).
However, for future reference, as Torsten says, a search engine will be a little more flexible. Try typing the phrase into Google and see what comes up. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |
