The question may sound weird to many, but I have faced this situation quite often at my worksite.
Imagine you are standing in a field where there is no landmark, signpost or anything at all, in the line of sight. Of course, we can see the sun and therefore make out N,S,W,E.
So how can we give directions, like tell a person who faces east to turn about 30(deg) and walk straight for around a Kilometre to reach his destination?
Is there a better way of telling the same?

That, indeed, is the simplest of all fixes.
