In the second sentence it says "However, they lost the game last night." This suggests that they had previously won, which is why that answer is correct. If you are wondering what forwarded means, it's this "sent ahead, forward, or onward", it is the past tense of the word "forward".

The second sentence makes no difference to the usage of 'won'. Even if that sentence were omitted (or never existed) the correct answer would still be 'won'.

,,last night'' in the above second sentence means: last evening?
