In the above sentence, is it correct to use simple past tense for 'arrived'? or it must be 'have' + participle?

"since I arrived here." = since the point of time at which I arrived, is correct. "*since I have arrived here" would be wrong.

Present perfect only very rarely appears in a 'since' clause, Bulone, but it may do so when that action is also ongoing:

I have been talking with Lily since we have been sitting here, and she is a lovely young woman.
