Dear Pervaiz,
Welcome to english-test.net and many thanks for introducing yourself. I have heard about Helmand province several times on CNN. How are things in Lashkargah City nowadays? Yes, of course we look forward to helping you improve your English. You obviously have already had quite a lot of practice because your English is pretty good. I take it you write texts in English on a regular basis?
I hope to hear from you soon. Regards, Torsten _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

These both districts are about 25KM west of Lashkargah city.

Hi Bernado,
Looks like you are going to do a major tour of the major European cities. Have you been to Europe before? Also, do you speak any other languages in addition to Portuguese and English? I'm asking because this will help me select a possible contact in Russia.
Thanks, Torsten _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Dear Pervaiz,
Thanks a lot for investing the time to answer my questions. You see, most of us here on the forum know about the situation in Afghanistan only from following the news and it is an amazing thought for me to be able to talk to someone who is working there on the ground. That's why I hope it'll be OK for you if I ask even more questions.
For example, I'd like to know how you got involved with the organization you working for right now? Also, judging by your written English I suppose that you have a university degree. If so, what did you study?
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Torsten _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Hi Dear Torsten
It’s all my pleasure to answer your questions, to be honest I really feel good doing it so therefore you are always most welcome to ask questions, and I will happily answer them.
In reference to answer your question regarding me getting involved with International Organization, I will take a step back and write you a short story of my life. I was 8 years old when the fight being in Afghanistan and my family moved into Pakistan Quetta City. It was trouble for me and my family staying in a refuge compound where more then 1000 families were staying in tents in a very cold weather. I started working with one of the shop keeper as a cleaner and my salary was 50rupe which is not even $1 and my father who would buy watermelon and sale them and we both were the only ones who were supporting the rest of the family. Anyway I will not make this a long story I was 15 years old when I started studying English and Computer in a private center near by my house in Quetta city, I studied up to TOEFL and completed all the significant programs of computer.
We moved back to Afghanistan Helmand Lashkargah city in 2004, and I joined an English center as teacher for 3 classes, and after 3 months I got a job with UNOPS as Logistic Officer and I worked for 2 years with UNOPS and then I moved in to Chemonics International Inc, which is founded by USAID as Transportation and Security Manager
I have no university degree, but I have my entire education and work certificate.
Dear Torsten, I would love to know more about you if you don’t mind.
I Look forward hearing from you soon.
best,
Pervaiz |

Dear Pervaiz,
How are things with you in Helmand Lashkargah city today? Than you so much for sharing your story with me which is highly interesting. So what is your mother tongue, is it Dari? I take it that you also understand Arabic and other languages? It's amazing how well you have learned English especially given the fact that you started to learn the language only at the age of 15. Most of our forum users want to know how to learn English as fast as possible and maybe you can give them some advice on that too? After all, you have worked as an English and you know how important an excellent command of the English language is when it comes to solving ethnic and political conflicts.
Also, it would be great if you describe a work day as Transportation and Security Manager. How many staff do you have and what nationalities are they? What are the biggest challenges of your job and how do you cope with them? I'm asking all these questions because I think the more I know about your work the better might be chances that I can support you somehow.
As for me, I pretty much spend most of my time working on this website which I started in 2003 together with my two friends Alan and Slava.
I look forward to your next message.
