Hi,
I see no problem with the form are finding since it refers to a continuous condition of difficulty as used in the sentence. What is your objection?

Hi,
I have to disagree with you. There are admittedly certain verbs that by their very meaning imply a continuous state and are not usually used in the continuous verb form but you have to accept that there are different meanings and ways in which some verbs can be used. I am finding it difficult is perfectly acceptable because it means: it is my experience all the time that this is difficult. Why are you so dogmatic in your comments?

. For instance, McDonald's new slogan is I'm lovin' it! Many stative verbs have dynamic senses which can be used in continuous tenses when they refer, as Alan says, to ongoing situations (I have been finding all of my homework assignments very difficult this term) or when they are used to express increased immediacy or concern (Will you be having wine with your dinner, sir?) . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

They are wrong simply because the English phrase is 'in my opinion', Silva. As you can see, the word 'in' is not logical here, but the phrase is an idiomatic expression. _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |
