a special question... #1 (permalink) Wed May 19, 2010 11:27 am   a special question...

Hello, how are you?
I have a question please, and I hope you will help me...
I began working with a publishing house last week .. they asked me to make simplified bilingual stories ( English Arabic ) for young generations to help learning English. Of course I have to translate them from English into Arabic. So the stories should be new and not translated before and should be useful for a large segment of society.
I don't want it to be very difficult because I'm still a learner. So could you please help me to find such a series of stories...
I want to tell you that I got that job because of your helpful web that gave me a lot of useful information...
Thank you very much for your great efforts...

I think it sounds like a nightmare to have to take classic texts, arrange them in order of difficulty, paraphrase/simplify them and translate them! I wish you luck. I wouldn't even want to do the first parts without having to do the translation. I hope they are paying you really well for such a difficult task.

The titles you mention are, in my opinion, far too long, as full size novels, to be suitable for your purposes. Maybe you should look at some classic shorter stories.

Hello beesnees, thanks for advice, but actually these stories are too short, 10 or 12 pages no one will buy it.
I need a stories of about 100-150 pages for young generation, not fiction, not for children...It's a big project, but I have a lot of time to complete it...I like writing, like translation...
