Hello ETT, I've had to guess at exactly what you mean in a few sentences here and there, I'm afraid. Hopefully I haven't changed your meaning:
The Gehege, the oldest national park of Nordhausen, extends in an extension of for about 16 hectares on the western side of the upper town.
