What does "ain't" mean? #1 (permalink) Mon May 24, 2010 17:40 pm   What does "ain't" mean?

Hi everyone,
Could you explain what does "ain't " mean in the following sentence: "I ain't fighting with no girl." I heard that expression when I was watching the movie. Please, also explain this grammar rule, and correct my errors in this message.
Thank you very much in advance!

"Ain't" is colloquial for "is not," "are not," and "am not." I would avoid it altogether, but you should never write this is in anything remotely formal or professional.

As for your errors in the message, change it to "sentence." It's "explain what ain't means."
